riding it out in the basement
With tonight's 5-4 loss at home to the Islanders and Tampa Bay's win over the Philadelphia Flyers, the Leafs fall to last place in the Eastern Conference. I hope they like the look of the basement because I don't think they will be leaving it anytime soon. Congrats to Mats Sundin who moved to within one goal of Michel Goulet (547) for 23rd on the NHL all-time goals list--Ron Francis is at 22nd with 549, so it should be too long before the big Swede surpasses him as well. Next up for the Leafs is a tilt at home on Saturday night against Boston (my best friend's favourite team) which is on Hockey Night in Canada.

Well well the basement eh.. Oh well they know that its going to be a rebuilding year. So they might as well stay there so they can get a good draft pick.
Time is ticking away and the trade dead line is coming up soon. I am really interested to see what happens with Mats. Will he stay will he go . No one really seems to know.
I guess we will have to wait and see.
