prey for the Preds

A very undisciplined Leafs team had their winning streak snapped as they gave up 11 man advantages to the Predators in a 4-2 loss. There is no way to blame Raycroft when you spend that much time in the sin bin. The Leafs outshot the Preds 32-28 and Raycroft stopped 24 of 27 shots (the 28th shot was an empty net goal). Unfortunately, the Bruins got whupped by the Hurricanes and thus the 'Canes opened a 3 point lead in the standings over the Leafs, who are still 2 points behind the Lightning for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

It's too bad that the Bruins couldn't pull out a win (big surprise) so that the gap between Toronto and Carolina would remain constant, but I shouldn't expect much from Boston!

Advice to the Buds: STAY OUT OF THE BOX, BOYS! You will help your case a lot more if you can play even-strength hockey rather than spending 29 minutes of the game shorthanded! Let's hope for a better effort on Saturday against Sid the Kid and the Pens!
