As a Leafs fan, Burke's signings of of top U.S. college prospects Christian Hanson and Tyler Bozak is a really big step in the right direction for the franchise. And according to this article, he is also aggressively pursuing a chance to move up in the draft and according to TMLfans.ca, he wants Tavares. Considering that we finished 12th in the Eastern Conference for the second straight season and haven't seen playoff hockey since 2004, some changes definitely need to be made; I believe that the Burke-Wilson combo is the right combination to make those changes. There were huge improvements this year and the team was far more fun to watch than it has been in a few years.
The only real concern I have is that both Burke and Wilson are backing Toskala to be the number 1 again next year. He will really have to bounce back from this season if that is to be the case because the Leafs had the worst GAA in the entire league this year. Let's be praying for an off-season miracle!
