GM talk heats up...

The rumour mill is really kicking into overdrive as the the Toronto Sun, Toronto Star, and the Globe & Mail are all running articles saying that there is a good chance that Brian Burke may be on his way to Toronto to take over as the new GM of the Leafs. Good news? Absolutely. Burke is a proven winner, would be (supposedly) be given autonomy to run hockey operations without the meddling of Peddie and his cohort of morons. I have not been paying much attention to Leaf talk lately, but this story has me more than a little intrigued...

... bring it on. I think the Canucks missed out here, Burke would've come back. However, that said, I saw quite a long interview with BB last year in which he said 2 key things ... "who in their right mind wouldn't want a crack at the Leafs?" and "yes, the Anaheim ownership was prepared to let him follow the 'fix-what-ails-the-Leafs' dream ( or? maybe nightmare ). I think when push came to shove Brian would hand Peddie a BLT sandwich ... Big Like Truck, or Brian Likes Tony ( Soprano ) or Burke Lifts Toronto, and tell him to go golfing with his preppy friends from university days.
