thinking outside the box...

An article by Damien Cox in the Toronto Star today puts forward that trading Sundin is not the Leafs' only viable option for getting out of the mess they're in. Cox made some good points, most of which hinged on the fact that if Sundin won't waive his no-trade clause and is not interested in being a rent-a-player, then reward his loyalty with another contract--the Leafs aren't even close to having a number one centre to replace him with and it doesn't look like they will anytime soon. I don't know what I think of this because I do love the guy and think he's a class act, but I also know that he could fetch some pretty good return if we traded him.
